Properly mixing and blending your product can sometimes be a very challenging step of the process. Determining if your product requires low shear vs. high shear mixing, single motion vs. triple motion, blending vs. emulsifing vs. homogenizing etc. is important to understand. Galick Packaging and Process Solutions can help you determine the best blending equipment to suit your application. We supply a wide variety of blending equipment including Ribbon Blenders, Paddle Blenders, V-Blenders, etc.
A Ribbon Blender is used to mix dry free-flowing bulk solids. Usually contained in a semi-cylinder, ribbon blenders have long, ribbon-like blades which rotate around a central axis, shearing through crumbly materials as the axis turns. Grains and powdered food ingredients like flour and many other solids are de-lumped or combined in this style of blender.
A Paddle Blender shares the same configuration as Ribbon Blenders, but with paddle-shaped blades protruding from the axis instead of shearing ribbons. Paddle Blenders are used to mix dry crumbly ingredients, but can also used in wet-dry mixing, slurry mixing and other high viscosity mixing applications.
V-Blenders are suitable for batch mixing of dry bulks solids such as powders, granules, pellets, etc. A V-Blender has two hollow cylindrical shells welded together at an angel of 75° to 90°. The entire blender rotates on an axis allowing the bulk materials to mix together within the cylindrical shells.
